With William being a preemie the NICU advised us to only give sponge baths to Will until he was a big enough size to hold his body temperature. They had mentioned it best to wait until he was the size of a full term baby, we determined after he weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds last week that it was finally time for bath time!
We bathed William in our kitchen sink on a foam head/body mat. Since we were not sure how he would react we listened to Disney music to help keep him calm. Since there were no tears or screams we thought Will's first bath was a total success!

Poop
POOP...is the one word that will always make your mom laugh. I am not quite sure what it is but I giggle like a school girl every time your dad or I speak about it. And you Little man...your poop stinks! You may be thinking that I am stating the obvious...but you can really stink up a place! For the first six months of your life when you were only consuming milk...your diapers were easy to change and did not stink. Now that you are eating solids the diapers are messy, smelly and just gross. I can't wait until you are potty trained!
Noisy Boy
The majority of people who meet Will for the first time say to us ' wow, he is a noisy baby'. "Yes, yes he is", is our reply. Will was not very noisy when we were in the NICU, more than likely because he was still too small and it took too much energy to make noise. But after a few days home we realized that we have a noisy baby! Whether awake or asleep, Will makes noise. Sometimes he sounds like a little sheep while other times he sounds like he is cackling. Whatever the sounds we both just laugh at him as they are all cute sounds to us. Check out the video below of our noisy boy.
Will and Benji Meet
While we were pregnant one of the things many people want to give us advice about was how to bring the baby home to our dog, Benji. What we read was that it is best to bring home an article of clothing from the baby before bringing baby home so the dog can get used to the scent of the baby. So every day that we came home from the NICU we brought a hat or blanket that Will wore or was wrapped in. Benji would sniff the items and many times want to play with them.
We were not entirely sure what Benji would think of Will and we were definitely anxious about the two of them meeting. The video below captures them meeting for the first time. Please excuse my voice and the number of times I ask Benji 'What do you think?". Yes, I know he cannot answer me, haha.

A Swinging Good Time
January 15, 2012
Since Will is a preemie the doctor who discharged Will from the NICU recommended that we wait a few weeks before putting Will in any swings/bouncers, etc. The doctors concern is that many of the swings and bouncers are built for bigger babies who have better head and neck control and the positioning of the babies is much different than for preemies. This meant that we would need to wait a few weeks until Will was a little stronger to try out many of Will's baby shower gifts. This past weekend Will got to check out his swing for the very first time. We think he really likes it! Check out the video below.

Eyelashes!
Will was born without eyelashes. I am not entirely sure if that is because he was a preemie or if it is normal for babies to be born without eyelashes. Either way they have been growing since he was born and I think they are officially done! Check me out below.

Being in the Moment
Every time I feed Will or let him fall asleep on my chest I do my best to be 100% in the moment......
I started this post in February and I remember that I was going to write about my efforts of to soak up each moment with my New baby. Six months later I can say that I have done exactly that. There is not one hug, kiss, snuggle, yawn, giggle, belly laugh, etc. that I have not completely soaked in. I have loved every minute and the rest of the world has been put on hold while I watch my sweet baby grow way too quickly. B
