Happy St. Patrick's Day!

From the cutest Irish boy I know! :-)

Happy 3 Months!

Dear William,
You are continuing to grow big and strong and you are beginning to lose your newborn characteristics. The biggest change this month is in your alertness and your vision. You have started to follow us more and more with your eyes and we think your eyes are beginning to express your emotions as well. It really does look like your eyes are telling us when you are excited and when you are uncomfortable. It is truly an amazing thing to watch as your develop into a little person. You are also beginning to smile to show your emotion and mom and dad work hard to get a smile out of you! We are becoming pros at baby talk...as baby talk gets you excited!

Your favorite things to do right now are to play on your play mat and take a bath. We see you the most relaxed during and after bath time. You are also more interested in sitting up and prefer to hold your head up and look around than to be stuck laying down.

This month mommy went back to work and has to leave you other family members 3 days a week. While she is very thankful to only be returning to work 3 days and that you are being taken care of family, it is not easy. It seems that you have adjusted well to this arrangement though and that makes it so much easier on mom. Having 2 days a week of just mom and Will time are days mom really looks forward too.

You continue to amaze us and we continue to fall in love with you more each day.

Love
Mom and Dad

Welcome Home Will

December 30, 2012

There is no greater feeling in the world than when we walked into our home with William. Having him home with us was emotional for both Jeff and I after what felt like an eternity in the NICU.

The first thing we did was let Benji meet Will. The video below shows just how excited Benji was. Please excuse the number of times I say "what do you think" to a dog that I know can't talk, haha. Just ignored voice and pay attention to Benji :-)

After the introduction we gave a tour to Will of his new home. We think he especially liked his nursery :-) We spent the rest of the day hanging out on the couch with both our babies and entertaining a few visitors. A perfect first day home with our little man.

Happy Valentines Day!

William's grandma Lowe purchased Will a Valentine's day outfit with a couple bibs for the holiday. Since this is the first holiday Will was at home for I thought it would be fun to have a little photo shoot :-). Plus it meant that I could send family a little Valentine via text.

I grabbed a heart table cloth that I had purchased a few years ago and placed it over the chair in Will's nursery for a backdrop. I placed Will in the chair and used my cell phone to snap a few quick pics. Below are the photos of our 'Ladies Man'.

Happy 2 Months!

Dear Will,
It has taken me a couple of weeks to write this post as few words describe the love that has manifested over this last month.  This month you have truly become our son, our little boy, our little man and you have filled our hearts with so much joy.  So much joy that there are days that it feels as though my heart is going to burst, to say we are obsessed with you would be an understatement.  You are our everything and while I thought my life had purpose before your arrival it is clear to me that it does now, being your mom means more to me than anything.

This month you have become so very alert!  You are really looking around at everything and you can follow us with your eyes.  You recognize my voice from others and it seems that my voice can sooth you when you are fussy or in someone else's arms.  You can also recognize your daddy's voice and I can already tell that you are going to love his goofiness and entertainment.

You have also developed a love for music and dance.  We play the Disney Pandora station quite frequently now and dance around the kitchen as a family almost nightly.  You love the music and the movement.  Nightly dances in the kitchen were something your dad and I did before you were born and I love that you enjoy them as well, I am hoping we can keep this little family tradition alive for many years.

We had your 2 month appointment and the doctor said you are a 'Very Strong' boy.  You are holding your head up very well and you are pushing yourself up into a "crawling" position when laid on your belly.  Your head and neck control is pretty amazing to watch actually.  You look like such a big boy when you do it, but are still so small in size.

Your weight was 8.0 pounds even at the doctors and length is 20.75 inches.  You have grown out of 2 of your newborn outfits and a few others are getting tight.  You are a great sleeper for your size and age.  You go to bed around 10 or 10:30 and sleep for about 3-4 hours, you wake up and eat and then go back to sleep for another 3-4 hours.  You nap throughout the day, sometimes taking 30 minute naps other times taking 2 hour naps it is fairly inconsistent but we are just thankful that you are sleeping.  You are also a big eater.  While breastfeeding is not very successful, you are a pro-bottle eater and are drinking anywhere from 22 to 27 ounces per day and 2-3 ounces at a time.
